This part of the website is designed to show a selection of my photographs of the Heritage railway scene. Domestic circumstances have restricted the range and duration of my recent photographic expeditions. While there is a preponderance of shots taken within easy reach of my home near Colchester, there are several taken further afield during holiday trips.

The first part of the website is devoted to the Mainline scene. This second part is still being developed and at present should be regarded as a taster showing only a small selection of Heritage shots. Additonal material will be added as time permits.

I am indebted to Steve Allen and Rob Boyce for their invaluable assistance with the captions in this section.

While the information given in the captions is correct to the best of my knowledge, I would appreciate notice by email of any errors or omissions which come to light.

  1. NNR Summer visitors on 13th August 2008
For the peak season the North Norfolk Railway is hosting the G.W.R.-designed 0-6-0PT No. 1638 from the K.& E.S.R. Although it arrived near the end of July, personal restraints and poor weather have so far prevented me from getting to see it. Also from mid-August there will be a repeat visit of the Furness Railway Trust's G.W.R. 0-6-2T No. 5643. Let's hope it faces uphill this time!
